TOKAN is a tactical striking game in which each player controls their own team of lions, jackals, and mice. The game pieces, made of fine wood, are placed face down and randomly distributed, so you never know exactly which animal your opponent will face. And that's precisely where the excitement lies: Will your jackal prevail against the lion? Or will you manage to turn the tables with a cleverly placed mouse?
In TOKAN, capturing isn't done by removing, but by covering: The topmost stone on a tower indicates who owns the stack. All animals below it are considered "eaten"—a striking metaphor for the constant struggle for survival in the animal world. The rule that even a mouse can capture a lion provides surprising twists and turns, making every game exciting.
