NEPTUNE AND THE FISHES – the clever plug-in game from ROMBOL Denkspiele

Frank Rehm discovered this extraordinary stacking game in ancient archives, lovingly described it, and slightly modified it. The result is a fascinating board game for two players that impresses not only with its simple gameplay but also with its strategic depth.

The game board consists of 5 x 5 squares, on which three black pieces – "Neptune" – compete against a majority of white pieces – "the fish." The goal is for Neptune to capture as many fish as possible and remove them from the board. But beware: The fish can also defeat Neptune if they cleverly "leave him alone." What initially sounds simple quickly reveals itself as a challenging puzzle game with surprising depth.

This wooden game impresses with its high-quality craftsmanship and practical functionality: The playing board can be securely inserted into the sliding lid. This ensures that all the pieces remain firmly in place, even when moved—making it ideal as a travel game! An additional rubber band prevents the playing board from accidentally slipping out.

NEPTUNE AND THE FISHES is suitable for children, teenagers, and adults alike—whether at home, on the go, or as a special gift for fans of strategic board games. ROMBOL stands for sophisticated wooden games with thoughtful design—and this game is a prime example. Whether played casually by two or in a duel for the best tactics, this stacking game never fails to delight.
